Alpenföhn Peter has, besides a rather amusing name, some serious cooling capacity. The cooler is an orgy in aluminum and copper heatpipes capable of handling 420 watt and thus have no problem cooling either HD 6970 or GTX 580.
Alpenföhn has become the fresh face among cooling manufacturers and the company has now launched its perhaps most brutal creation so far. Alpenföhn Peter bygger Builds on a module design with a powerful nickel coated copper base leading heat up to two aluminum heatsinks through 12 6mm heatpipes.
Thanks to the raised fins Peter can house up to four 140mm fans, two on top and two on the sides of the cooler. A configuration that will work best in a case with open sides.
Alpenföhn Peter has a total of 84 aluminum fins and measures 253.8 x 44 x 100 mm (BxHxD) while weighing 590 gram without fans. Besides the large heatsink the cooler ships with thirty or so smaller heatsinks to be applied to memory circuits and voltages regulators . The cooler supports nearly all current single-GPU cards today and will be updated for new models with extra mounting kits. The price tag of Alpenföhn Peter is around 55€ .
