Samsung Galaxy S III gets specifications and is shown on video?

Just over two weeks from the launch of Galaxy S III in London it seems Samsung's new flag ship has been able to get out, it comes with the new system processor Exynos 4412 from Samsung which is confirmed to get the same Mali-400 graphics as their previous Exynos 4210/4212.

There has been an unusual amount of rumors and speculations surrounding the Galaxy S III, but now it looks like we once and for all will get clarity in its specifications and equipment. The Vietnamese site Tinthe has released a video that features the GT-I9300, which according to Samsung's schedule of name codes should be the new Galaxy S III since Galaxy S II has the model name GT-I9100 and the Galaxy Nexus, GT-I9250.

The phone will have 4,6 inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1 184 and a pixel density of 320 DPI (720 x 1 280 if you include the buttons on the screen). It's still not clear what kind of display technology that is being used, but previous information claims that this is true RGB subpixels and not the PenTile matrix that is used in the Galaxy S II.

The system processor that powers the smartphone will get four cores with the clock frequency of 1,4 GHz and the Mali-400 graphics, which implies this is their yet to be released Exynos 4412 which is built on the company's latest 32 nanometer technology. The smartphone will have to make do with 1 GB of RAM, like it's predecessor, and we believe that it will still use two memory channels at 32 bit each.

We also spot an 8 megapixel camera and what looks like two LED flashes on the back, but it's not easy to determine because of the quality of the video and the fact that the editorial staffs Vietnamese is a bit rusty. The GT-I9300 will also get NFC (Near Field Communication) which is expected to become the future in transactions and communication between other smartphones, among other things. There will also be a 16 GB internal memory which can be extended with a microSD card, and the battery should have a 2 050 mAh specification which has to be considered to be higher that the market standard.. As expected the smartphones operating system is Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and the version on the model that is shown in the video is 4.0.3.

It's still hard to make a statement of the design and thickness on the smartphone, since a plastic frame looks to be around the entire phone which would explain why the display frame is thicker than the previous circulating rumors. Engadget who were quick to save the video before it was removed, has also received a statement from Samsung which neither denies nor proves the information.

"We will be able to tell you more at the 2012 Samsung Mobile Unpacked."
