04-03-2009, 02:06 AM

SuperTalent has developed a new Solid State Drive unit unlike most other. SuperTalent RAIDDrive is a bit like OCZ ZDrive and a product that houses multiple SSDs in RAID mode. This makes it possible to increase storage capacity quite a bit, up to 2TB, while the transfer rates go through the roof with some help from the PCI Express interface. Through an PCIe x8 slot RAIDDrive will offers speeds up to 1.3GB/s.

I read that originally as "2048 MB" and thought, oh wow, that's REALLY useful. You could store, oh I don't know, nothing on a 2gb SSD. Then I realized it was a 2 TB drive. On a PCI-E slot. With uber read/write speeds. Damn.

If you would excuse me, I need to go change my pants now.

Hehe, I'm a man who appreciates a good sense of irony and the first part there made me laugh.

This is a beast and I'm sure there will be several similar products coming from other companies soon.
