    My gen2 camaro z28

    Well, sorta............

The windshields in these camaros are irreplaceable if you ever see a junker with glass in it, get the glass. It's priceless.

I used to drive this car everyday in high school, 1981 z28, 1972 350ci (5.7l) 4bbl v8 from a monte carlo. I took a stand years ago that this car was not going to get eaten alive by rust, and that I would restore it. It has been more than two years since I've taken just the tarp off of it, and it seems that the rust neutralizer I covered it in worked It actually wasn't in as bad a shape as I thought it might be. These cars are famous for being made of poor steel, and they rust bad. GM must have been saving all the good steel for engine blocks. Old Chevrolet engines from particular model cars, trucks, and vans (4bbl engines, ill explain) are literally jewels, and coming across one in a junk car is literally like stumbling across several hundred dollars.

It had a rochester quadrajet, an edelbrock cam I installed, and before the new cam it put about three hundred horsepower to the road, according to the haynes manual charts.

If you are ever buying a muscle car and the add doesn't say "4bbl" somewhere, you had better ask. 4bbl is an abbreviation for "four bolt block" which is short for "four bolt main bearing caps block" you might see below that each main cap has four bolts, two on each side. The vast majority of American v8 engines now and even years ago are two bolt mains, and the difference is that if you try and make a typical two-bolt 350 v8 into a race motor, they tend to split bearings (main bearings).

If you want a brand new 4bbl 350 the block alone can run as much as $10,000, whereas you can get a base model two-bolt 350 for about $1000. They are simply made of inferior steel, similarly if you add more screws into a soft wood, it doesn't make much difference.

Don't be fooled by myths about the way American car's handle This is a front tire, these sort of wheels keep you glued into the action (about $200 each too....)

Found some easy reading while I was over there..

I paid $900 for that car, when it was driving, it even has electric windows

We used to have a shit brown '78 Z28. I loved that car... But not nearly as much as the El Camino.

I really like the random brick action... Defiantly adds to the "Red Neck" factor...

When I get my bike pics from my GF, there will be a new car for the guess the car thread in behind the bike... You'll just have to keep waiting to see...
OMG I sold my computer... Using my GFs. E4300 on a P5NSLI. NON E version. Yeah, that means it's the one that literally can't do a 10mhz OC. (9Mhz worked... for a while).

    Neat

I'm all too familiar with the fact that Camaros rust. A real shame, but not over here it's fixable. These cars are relatively cheap, since they rust so badly

A friend of mine has a 4bbl with a compressor and tuned to 400hp, but it's fitted into an Opel Omega -95

Slightly, just slightly, modified exterior and a dampened coupe.

    Just love that car

    LOL! electric windows R

Are you sure you can't get that reconstructed?

We used to own an original '86 El Camino Choo Choo Custom SuperSport back when I was a young kid, those were pretty nifty V8 blocks. My dad used to collect them from the 60's. Some of the '70 Chevy El Camino productions were hitting 500hp and 6second 0-60mph stock, so they have a history of being very powerful and GM is set to release a makeover El Camino production in 2011, coming in V6, V8 configs with over 400 ponies.

I recall the '87 GMC Caballero 305-V8 and the '79 Chevy Corvette when I think of these monster drinkers.

I don't know much about opel, but they seem to mean serious business in racing games

I also have a four bolt big block 454 (chevy) in a tupperware tub, but all I have is the block. That was a plan from long ago.

My current ride gets much better gas mileage...

The Omega is not meant to hold such an engine. The engine compartment had to be reconstructed and strengthened, but the entire compartment was also dampened. It's smoooth to ride and packs a mean punch

The suspension is a bit stiffer than normal and the control is just excellent. Unfortunately it is not for sale.

We traveled at 270Kmph (75M/, 167mph) through the middle of Sweden a few years back. It's rock solid on the road and blowing past a guy doing 110 on the motorway is an adrenaline kick like no other

We know of Omega's in EU and South America's, albeit under different marketing names. Remember the Opel Mantra? :P
