Hey guys, not sure if anyone can help with this but if anyone has info it would be appreciated. Dr Google was of no help at all on this.
We've currently set the global send/recieve size for Exchange 2007 to 10mb to keep mailbox sizes low. Users (we've just migrated from GroupWise) often send emails exceeding the 10mb limit and it simply sits in their outbox and doesn't notify them in any visible way that the mail isnt/hasnt been sent.
The only way they can see that the mail hasn't been sent is check their mailbox. Is there a way to get the Outlook client to warn the user in some way that the mail isn't being sent?
Thanks in advance guys. _________________ AMD AMD Phenom II 955 BE w/ Xigmatek S1283 Red Scorpion HSF, Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P MB

Couldn't you send out some sort of message to users that try to send e-mails that are too big?
I.e. Your message was to big, check your outbox ... *****!

Yeah but the boss wants a client end solution as otherwise this would require the client to still have the email send to exchange before its filtered.
This would not be an optimal solution as some of our sites are spread out across the country, and some have quite a narrow link. Having a single large mail go through would flood the link and affect the experience for all users on that site.
I personally don't think there's a client end solution out there but thought I'd ask the question anyways. _________________ AMD AMD Phenom II 955 BE w/ Xigmatek S1283 Red Scorpion HSF, Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P MB

True, didn't think of that.
To be honest, I can't think of any option built into Outlook. You would need some other, third-party software to do that.

I figured as much. I think that attachment filtering in exchagne will be the only thing that works. I think setting the filter to 10mb would be an idea and the connection restriction to 20mb would do the trick.... _________________ AMD AMD Phenom II 955 BE w/ Xigmatek S1283 Red Scorpion HSF, Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P MB
