So, I broke 56k yesterday (not the speed of my internet connection), as soon as the ORB stops messing with me I'll upload it. It was only at 3.8GHz on the CPU, which actually is 3D stable on normal air @ <1.45V. Smile

Hell yeah. But I guess you drive around me in circles when it comes to 3DM05 and '06. But what the heck, I just got my licenses (3dmark, that is), when I get myself a new card (R600 all the way, hopefully) and a new mobo I'll be on it again. Maybe I'll need a new CPU as well, if my mobo decides not to do any 600FSB. Razz

Man, I need to get back at this...

Nice work with 4.5Ghz... It's a shame my pelt can only make ~70% contact due to the caps on my board... I would probably be able to keep 4.1-4.2 stable... Cool

Good news, Swiftech just released a new block... The MCW6500-TTwisted Evil

Gimme a couple weeks...

I wonder if a Maze 4-1 would fit on an 8800... Rolling Eyes

I'm seriously considering starting with some water on GPU + chipset... First I gotta find some money to buy myself a R600, then a radiator, then some blocks as well...

I don't want to go too far off topic, but be careful magicman. (with your wallet) The 230w pelt I put on my 8800 actually seemed to work great at first, bringing idle temps to around 10c and loads to 33c, but I noticed very soon, the peltier was bringing up the temperature of the water very quickly, and made my 120mmX240mm radiator as warm to the touch as a bread toaster. It reminded me of what happens when the thermostat goes bad in your car. When the water is constantly flowing, it collects the heat faster than the rads can dissipate it. I turned my machine off when my gpu was hitting 70c with the pelt. There are many kelvins available on the 8800 pcb, and the 230w pelt I used was very good at moving them.

On that note, while testing, when I unplugged the pump on accident, when I plugged it back in, the gpu load temp plummeted back to around 40c. It may still be possible to use pelts to an advantage, with large radiators, and/or a temperature controlled "cooldown" like for an engine.

360 rad, currently 3X papst. Since it already sounds like a jet, some ~90+CFM fans would be comin into play...

I can't deal with that kind of noise, makes me go bonkers. You might not notice much difference in temps with 30cfm fans. Smile

My rig is very quiet and easily drowned out.

Mean machine, make sure you get a good waterblock for the northbridge, the swiftech mcw30 is garbage.

Well, actually they are the thick 56CFM Papst fans, so the system isn't the problem. The meanwell is the noise beast.

F'in 40mm screamer in it...

Also what the 575W 5.1 Home theatre is for...

I just realized a major problem with the Maze on my 8800... Top ports, not side... Even in my Armour, that's awefully tight for the 1/2" clearflex.

That sucks.....

My meanwell has a 60mm fan that isn't noisy. It runs on a duty cycle too, so it's hardly ever on. I won't be needing that right now anyway tho...

Unless you're around 600mhz, you won't get your 8800gtx any further without a volt mod.

Do you have any case pics that aren't smeared with lube? Wink

Nah, but I'll get the GF to take some...

Huge shame I was too fast at closing down the 3DMark window, never got around to save the result. To be honest, I was hoping for my CPU to go higher as well, I was gunning for 75k or so.

Revival!!!111 (Since it's just me reading the forums anyway...) Wink

I don't know if it's any good, but it'll land me an MSI N260GTX Lightning, which seems like a pretty nice card. Maybe even two. No worries of actually getting to go to Berlin for MSI's finals this year with this CPU...
