Intel got a day of praise after launching the TRIM firmware for its G2 series of SSDs. Then a bug was discovered. It could corrupt the new 34nm drivers and render them unaccessible for the user. The firmware was removed immediately and since October 27th Intel has been working hard on a solution to the problem. It now says it has found the bug, but it hasn't found a solution to the problem.

The bug is said to only affect 64-bit systems and Windows 7 is prioritized according to a statement found in the SSD support forum.

Intel has replicated the issue on 34nm SSDs (X25-M) and is working on a fix. If users have downloaded 02HA firmware and not upgraded, Intel recommends they don’t upgrade until further notice. Intel is pursuing the resolution of this as a high priority. No related issues have been reported by users who have successfully upgraded to 02HA firmware via the firmware upgrade tool (version 1.3).”

Even if it hasn't been able to come up with a working firmware it looks to be close to a solution.
