Thought i should make this kind of thread here on NH.com, it's one like this on NH.se that is kind'a well used.
So? What did i do?
Not much yet today, but yesterday and some days before i have been working with the floor in our garage at work.
We are going to rebuild it so it will be a smooth surface on the floor.
Here is some pics from yesterday while we were reinforcing before the concretetruck comes on monday.

I have been thinking of making one over here too, so why the heck not.

Today I walked downtown to buy some tools (two regular wrenches and some socket wrenches) and realized how happy I am living in a big city again. Here the freaks and nerds walk proudly among the regular crowd instead of hiding at home. Feels good

Exchanged about half of the spokes in the rear wheel of my Puch Maxi, tough job to get the wheel quite straight i would say.

Remembered that Delph1 asked for pics and info about some mopeds i bought this spring, so i thought i should post a small report with pics here. (Nowadays i'm banned in NH.se were the thread was, so i post it here instead)

The Yamaha DT50 was for my sons 15'th birthday which was in 18'th of July.
This is how it looked when it arrived to our garage:


After a closer look i decided that the moped needed a big restoration, some rust, cracked plastic in fenders and caps.....
I thought that a paintjob was no problem becuase i work in a workshop with asset to sprayguns, spraybox and everything else i could need.

After a while when me and my son got our hands on it in our own little garage:




After the "slaugther" of the moped i brought it to the workshop, discovering that the last owner that painted it had done a really lousy job.
Dents with loads of filler, and left decals overpainted :







Well, after hours of small amount of filler and grinding it finally was time for some nonsanding och grounding of the frame and the other stuff:




Epoxi for the frame:


And after that some "leftover" silvermetallic for the frame:


For the fenders, caps and other stuff i decided that black metallic with an ounce of blue flakes would work fine. (Unfortunatly it doesn't show on those photos) :




After painting all stuff it was time to put the moped back together again:








Got stuck whith the electrics for a while, thou the last owner had changed the headlight och frontcap to one from Honda, but i solved it after a while:


Well, the moped was ready to ride on his birthday on the 18'th of july.


A little paintjob can do miracles i believe, dont you?
Whats left now on the Yamaha is making the engine a little stronger, but i guess my son allready have some plans for that.

Now i have started next project, a Puch Maxi.. Haven't done much yet, but i can post some about that later if theres some interest for it.

Oh yea, they increased the area from 10 to 15 recently?

Personally, I've been working some more overtime, and cleaning. In an hour or so my two youngest brothers are coming here and we'll be spending the weekend together.

Time for mounting the roof trusses, got one "prototype" up now for checking up how the final result could seem like.


The thought is that it will harmony with the garage that looks like this:


I really think i'm on the right way, thou i'm no carpenter in my profession, i'm just a carmecanic. Never built anything like this before. But hey, you never know before you try.

Been on a short holidaytrip to my Father down in Hälsingland, done some fishing there too.


Of course i eat what i pick up from the waters:


Perch with potatoes and chivessauce is one of my favourites since childhood:

The place i was in wasn't bad either:

It's an old soldierscroft. (Soldattorp). No electricity, no running water, no internet and almost no contact with GSM mobile (Works in clear weather only). Just silence in the middle of the forrest.


Fixed a little with my Fathers old car too, a little problem with the electrical system.

For people who knows something about old English cars, knows that Lucas invented the darkness with the plus soil. (Plusjord)

Still working on the "Friggebod", now all the what we in Swedish call "takreglar" (Dont know the English word) is in place. Done some "strävor" (Dont know the English word) and "reglar"(Dont know the English word) for the walls too.
