Sounds cool, but a tad insane, super dank.
I could kill someone for some more VMCH, seems that's the reason I'm stuck at 485FSB now... _________________ Man, or woman, or both?

I will post some pictures when it's done
I couldn't get into the 440's stable, but with the mch modded at ~1.75v it gets hot enough to pass the motherboard temp limit and upset asus probe. I run 3.8ghz 24/7. I can do some benches at 4ghz, but it's not stable.
I'm gonna try both an 80w and a 188w 40mm pelt on the northbridge (with cold plate of course) on a 40mm waterblock. I hope it can soak up the temps. A 226w 50mm will be sandwiched in the mcw60-t.
This is my own mcw60-t taken all to bits. I know that ocn is pretty tame when it comes to overclocker forums, but I post there. I even got my x1900xtx to 7300 in 06.
50mm should fit
http://www.overclock.net/peltiers-tec/128968-mcw60-t-disassembly-mod.html
I figure if I ever build a phase change unit, it will be time for a more extreme forum.
I suppose if I get a ton of neoprene now, I will have plenty to spare. I think one nice carved out block should do it.
I left my camera in Norfolk England, it is in the mail right now, so it might be just a little while before the volt mod is seen.
This is my volt modded x850xtpe, I was so proud I made a guide with it (my card is at the bottom of the page)

So, Mr Dank, do you use MSN or what? Add me to your list, I'll come up as Grizzly Computers.
I'll be putting in my (first reseller) order to DangerDen probably monday, and I was contemplating what pelt gear to get...
I'm looking at the Maze4-1 for my chip with the 226W. Only problem is the tight fit next to the socket (~2mm). Fortunatly it's on what would be the top of the board...
Was really looking for the MCW5002-775T from swiftech, but since there is no stock, anywhere, and they won't answer my emails, so nuts to them...
I've contemplated another maze4-1 for my new 8800 GTX, but then I'd have to figureout how to cool the memory and the pwm on the card... and even idling, man it's f-ing hot... _________________ E6600 @ 3800Mhz | EVGA 680i | 2GB DDR2 PC8500 @ 550Mhz | 7800GT |Silverstone Zeus 750W| DD TDX 120mm waterloop |

Never tried msn before, I think I added you properly.
Thats a shame about the mcw5002-t, you may want to make and additional plate for the maze4-1, so it can clamp down a larger peice of neoprene. The simple design of it invites moisture I think. I'm gonna make an additional plate for my mcw60-t. The first time I sealed it I had a condensation problem and had to RMA my artifacting x1900xtx, so it's overkill with the di-electric grease from now on |

nah, You didn't add me right... my email is in my profile for msn...
Any way, back on topic...
Single card (8800GTX @stock speeds) with E6600 @ 3.65 w/ 2GB Team Xtreme DDR1000 5-5-5-15 = 18K
SLI = 22K
Turns out, my E6600 is now the bottleneck in this system, as the cpu scores just can't keep up with the video... My Aquamark scores (187K)don't even move when I add the second card _________________ E6600 @ 3800Mhz | EVGA 680i | 2GB DDR2 PC8500 @ 550Mhz | 7800GT |Silverstone Zeus 750W| DD TDX 120mm waterloop |

Man, you guys just have too much free time on your hands.
magicman: Why don't you splash the rest of your life-savings on a QX6700?
That ought to help your CPU-scores a bit. _________________ Man, or woman, or both?

Just a guess, but maybe the motherboard or pci-e bandwidth is holding it back too.
I wonder if this bottleneck with vanish with DX10 and SM4 |

Well, with this board, every clock can be independant: memory, fsb, HT, PCIe...
I've only been focusing on the chip, so yeah, there is some holdback in rest of the system, but the chip is still limiting it.
In 06 my card 2 card based scores go from 4.5K up to 7.8K, but CPU stays in the 3.1K range. Score only goes up to 15K from 12... _________________ E6600 @ 3800Mhz | EVGA 680i | 2GB DDR2 PC8500 @ 550Mhz | 7800GT |Silverstone Zeus 750W| DD TDX 120mm waterloop |

An X6800 isn't enough sometimes for 8800GTX SLI, alas. Kinc had some really funny issues with 3DMark 01 where the clocks of the cards didn't matter at all simply becuase the CPU wasn't clocked high enough

Dropping a 226W pelt under watercooling on that E6600 _________________ E6600 @ 3800Mhz | EVGA 680i | 2GB DDR2 PC8500 @ 550Mhz | 7800GT |Silverstone Zeus 750W| DD TDX 120mm waterloop |

Jebus. That's all I have to say... I'm speechless.
Although I could say that my warmup for the SMPC has begun, but since the price-to-performance class isn't fully set yet, I'm not able to brag with my 13200 points... _________________ Man, or woman, or both?

Are you ok out there magicman? I hope we see some good scores, not hear some bad news.
I was going to buy an 8800gts, but then I saw that the core has disabled shaders, and the decision became very easy, I ordered a gtx.
I'm going to try and make a new mounting bracket for a swiftech apogee, when I get the card I can figure out if it will fit. I don't want to mess it up right away, but if I can make a good mounting bracket to clamp some neoprene, I might try to stick a peltier to that big ihs on the gtx. The first time I saw that ihs, it struck me that it would make a good cold-plate.
I will probably enjoy the card a little first, I have alot of work to do on my new case. |

Another crazy ass bastard!
Hope we'll see some great results from you too. But I was kinda wondering, don't you need like a 600W peltier to provide sufficient cooling to the 8800? _________________ Man, or woman, or both?
