Word doesn't have native support for the OpenDocument Format which OpenOffice.org uses, but I found this plugin that converts ODT and other OpenOffice.org formats to Word format.

OpenXML/ODF Translator Add-in for Office:

Awesome, downloaded and installed. Will bring it to the attention of the powers that be and see if we'll deploy on our network.

Thanks man, great find.

I should perhaps say that OpenOffice.0rg 3.0 has native OOXML support, the beta works so-so with docx and xlsx, but it's looking promising.

Hmmmm, I'll be waiting untill final release before I touch it. Running 2.4.1 at home.

Any word on the release date for 3.0 yet?

Sometime this month.

I tried the beta it kept crashing on me so I had to downgrade to 2.4.1 again.

I'm loving 3.0, really, Awesome work Smile

Really don't want to use Office unless its last resort.

Graphs are one feature I miss with OOo, can only do very simple graph work.

Haven't tried 3.0 since the release really. I got a hold of a copy of Office 2007 and even though I hate the interface for the same reason I don't like OS X, it works OK. Most importantly it doesn't crash on me.
