A while back we handed you more than a little information on the upcoming GT200 core from NVIDIA. The core sports 240 shaders, 32 ROPs and 120 TMUs. NVIDIA will have two version ready for launch in July; GeForce 9900GTX and 9900GTS, 9800GTS has in turn been removed from the roadmap. GeForce 9900 cards will be based on the GT200 core (contrary to our previous report), and the high-end version is suggested to have 512-bit bus and up to 2200MHz GDDR3 memory. NVIDIA will remove two memory chips with GeForce 9900GTS, which results in a 448-bit bus and 896MB memory buffer.

Along with the new high-end cards, NVIDIA will present several new low-end GeForce 9 series cards; GeForce 9600GSO, 9500GT/GS and 9300GE/GS in the May-June-July time frame. Benchmarks and specifications for both 9500GT and 9500GS appeared earlier, but performance is not a sales argument with these cards. NVIDIA will focus on low power requirements and the support for Hybrid Power and Hybrid Boost here.
