Biostar goes with the flow and launches a motherboard series targeting the high-end enthusiasts. The motherboard comes with a kind of cooling Biostar calls Hybrid Space-Pipe, which is really a form of heatpipe cooling. It consists of Cooler Harbor, which directs the heat coming off the chipset to the cooling near the I/O bracket on the back, and V-Pipe, which makes it possible to cool your graphics card without generating any noise by connecting the it to the Hybrid Space-pipe cooling.

"TPower Series is meant for demanding users. It is going to offer top performance, exceptional stability, good service and stunning overclocking potential."

It's based on NVIDIA's nForce 750a chipset, which came as a bit of a surprise as AMD's latest processors offers limited overclocking. nForce 750a brings Hybrid SLI support, including Hybrid Boost and Hybrid Power, and sports a DVI output for the integrated graphics. It has two PCIe x16 slots (SLI 2x8), one PCIe x1 and three PCI slots, 8 channel HD audio, and the regular features of the nForce 750a chipset.

There's no mention of the exact technical specifications (e.g. PWM). It does have some other interesting features though;

  • Rapid Switch 2 - on-board power and reset buttons
  • Rapid Debug - LED panel with POST error codes
  • BIOS-Flasher - Launch the tool and insert USB memory stick with new BIOS and you're done
  • Driver-Genii - Installs your motherboard drivers through a single click
  • BIOS–ReLife - Restore a crashed BIOS from a USB memory stick

It also comes with the Biostar T-Power utility, which sports a number of features. Most importantly it makes it possible to overclock from Windows, but also monitor temperatures, control your fans, direct support through the eHOT-LINE, and check for the latest BIOS updates through a simple click.

Paired with and AMD Black Edition processor it does look like an interesting motherboard. Time will tell.

Tight fit for a tower CPU HSF with that little heatpipe fan sitting there.
