Foxconn has launched the new A7DA family based on AMD's much anticipated 790GX chipset, and we've been handed some interesting details on the new family. The main attraction is without a doubt the integrated graphics chip, Radeon HD 3300, which is supposed to offer to 33% better performance than the predecessor AMD 780G. AMD 780G was powerful enough to play games and the fastest IGP on the market, 790GX would raise the bar beyond the competition's grasp.

Foxconn uses AMD's new Performance Cache technology, which has 128MB dual-channel DDR3 memory integrated on the motherboard for even better graphics performance. It also boosts Hybrid Graphics, which makes it possible to link the integrated graphics circuit with an external graphics card for even better performance.

If you're not happy with the performance of the integrated graphics circuit you can install up to two discrete card (x8 bandwidth each) on Foxconn A7DA(-S) and run a CrossFireX configuration for some impressive gaming performance.

As we said above, the main attraction is the integrated graphics circuit that also brings along AMD UVD (Unified Video Decoder), which makes it possible for Radeon HD 3300 to off-load the processor when playing high definition videos encoded with VC-1, MPEG-2 or H.264. This is completed by three different video outputs; VGA, HDMI and DVI.

Worth mentioning is that, like all AMD 790GX boards, this one uses the much talked about SB750 southbridge that improves the overclocking of AMD's Phenom processors significantly. Foxconn has made sure that this new feature doesn't go to waste by equipping the board with high-quality capacitors, completed by its FoxOne Premium software for tweaking and overclocking in Windows.

We hope to present some more insight into AMD's new 790GX chipset soon, we might just have a Foxconn A7DA-S board coming in.

...But when is Europe going to sell any and at what price?

Specifically UK for me. The rest of EU seems to get everything while UK has absolutely no SB750s even at largest distributors.

I like that MB, I'm after it although it has a major BIOS bug.

You could get one second-hand Wink

England seems to get alot of things that way, I've seen American television shows in England that never aired in the US. They must have had bad ratings or something over here.

Very different kind of humor, USA vs. UK Wink
I actually prefer the latter.

From the other side of the pond, you just have to love Son of the Beach. Yeah, I know, it airs like 2:30AM over here nowadays, but it's good no-brain humor. Smile

LOL, yeah, things like "Sunset Beach" used to be hot US shows over here Razz
Saved by the Bell too! Monty Python, Absolutely Fabulous, French & Saunders, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, The Big Impression, Goodness Gracious Me, Men Behaving Badly, The Office, Red Dwarf (two I watched much), Bo' Selecta!, One Foot in the Grave, Dads Army to things like Mr Bean (LOL), etc are known as favs here. Top Gear is a huge fav of motormania fans, yup. Wink

US/UK are very different from one another in lifestyle and culture, just very different in too many ways. Even the humor. Even more enlarged because US is like 50 countries in one, it has so many regional differences. First time I came here from CA, I was shocked and confused at the same time. But then again I was only 5. Nowadays the net is integrating the two divides and so things are passing borders and increasing understanding and likes between them much.

There's absolutely no SB750 based MBs here for August although US has them all. I've been in touch with MB makers incl. FXCN and the largest distributors. The only reason for them is so I can do a K10 shmoo plot as I did with Core 2. ATM, AM2+ platforms are suffering from a PLL instability bug which causes the famous strange "load stable - idle unstable" results. It means results like mine (3147 1.375v stable / 3300 1.5v) are underpinned to 2842 1.2v max stable. Others are getting this lower than my chip too (i.e. at 2600MHz).
