|
|
We know you're waiting for us to publish the review of the Danamics LM10. We've been working closely with Danamics over the last few weeks to make sure things would go as smoothly as possible, unfortunately that hasn't been the case. There is no single person to blame, just a combination of bad luck and a couple of unfortunate events. Danamics have resolved this though and we should receive an updated cooler tomorrow, one that will reflect the performance of the retail cooler. We will also change our update methodology a bit from our regular synthetic test bench to testing in an environment closer resembling your average PC case. This will make the testing a bit more inconvenient, but it should not slow down the review any further. |

At this rate, I don't see the cooler getting here today. Just checked the shipment tracking, apparently someone thinks it's a good idea to ship things from Kolding (DK) to Stockholm (SE) via Paris... Sure, it's a nice city, but I don't see the package contents giving a damn about it.
Hopefully it's on some sort of plane en route to Arlanda today. _________________ Man, or woman, or both?

It seems it's in Sweden by now, actually. Doesn't take too long for a plane to reach Stockholm from Paris either, so I guess they have some sort of big hub in Paris or so. Hopefully I'll have the cooler later today, but I've got some sleeping issues I need to sort out, probably won't be testing it too streneously today. _________________ Man, or woman, or both?

Haven't heard from the courier yet, but it's in Sweden at least. Don't worry about either the cooler or me, it'll be fine. The cooler will eventually find its way to me, and I've always been very good at relaxing.
Also, I'm not going to rush anything, I want the review to be as good as possible, but of course I'm aiming at having it finished ASAP. _________________ Man, or woman, or both?

No shops in the UK are stocking it yet
Is that because it's the same as American and the materials used are not authorised |

No problem just been trying to get hold of one from the UK.
I did not know that I could order it from another country.
Previoulsy I have tried to order a item from the U.S, but they would not accept credit cards from another country.
Also the fact the website's selling them are not in english. |

The cooler will be available throughout the European Union, no need to worry
Stock is a bit limited right now, but should improve soon.

well in case it should be a problem for you, then order from france or germany e.g. U are able to find e-stores where they accept visa or paypal so u can easily pay and u can also find some translation sites who can translate the intire website from X language to english
But as been said earlier, the cooler should be availeble in the EU and this includes the UK i think.. |

Jonas does the testing, but I know he's well under way. FedEx' system didn't allow едц (letters that happen to be in the street address ...) so they couldn't deliver on time...

I'm pretty sure Jesus stays dead, but the testing is coming along nicely. Not quite done with it yet, since everything else seems to pile up, but I promise this'll be done well and I promise myself everything should be finished by Sunday. _________________ Man, or woman, or both?

Liquid-metal cooler, the name itself is worth the money, if it works that is  _________________ E6750 @ 3500 MHz 24/7 ~ P35-DS4 rev2 ~ 2GB PC6400 Cas4 ~ 500W FSP Bluestorm II

Water cooling sux for several reasons (pain in the a.. to change hardware, leaks and so on) - and the price for it is often a lot more then for the LM10.
So if it "just" performs better then the best Air-coolers, they will have me as a customer |

no leaks in water cooling if installed correctly and with quality components.
for 280eu=353$ according to currency site.
good radiator=$60~
waterblock=$60~
pump=$90~
reservoir (if you want)=$40~
coolant=$15?
thats $265, and note that we're talking about cooling the cpu only |

I won't be drawn into ginving away any hints, but I can tell you that my watercooling (thanks to Zalman's WB3 block) is worse than a Thermalright Ultra 120-Extreme...
You'll just have to be patient. _________________ Man, or woman, or both?

LM10 isn't competing against high-end water cooling kits, but mainly the pre-assembled all-in-one solutions kits like the NorthQ Siberian Tiger (which is just Asetek LCLC renamed), Zalman Reserator and other similar kits.
Thanks to the modularity of a good water cooling kit I'm not sure if they are a fair comparison. The prices are about the same, but with water cooling you can really fine tune everything to reach quite good levels of cooling.
But you also have a rather complex and bulky solution you need to assemble. It also requires maintenance.
LM10 is small, easy to install and maintenance-free.
The performance is still the crux of the matter, I'm just saying there are more things to consider and weigh in to get the whole picture.
