Overclocking the Core i7 920 can be a daunting task if you're stuck with the stock cooler from Intel, it doesn't have to be though. Reports have been going around that it is hard to get even above 3.2GHz with the Intel cooler, but that's not quite true. Many have been able to go much higher and forum user Lanparty decided to make a short video showing that the Intel cooler can handle more than you might think.

The favorite bit is still the text;

It can probably run lower"


Clearly showing that even though it may be possible to run it at lower frequencies, why would he? If it can be overclocked further there is no reason not to. We're proud to have people like him around, because that is what it's all about. Testing the limits.

Not sure, but I think he means it can run at a lower voltage, not frequency (text is shown while changing voltage).
