Graphics card maker Sapphire also carries a couple of motherboards, but it's almost only full-size ATX motherboards, even if has produced a couple of micro-ATX motherboards over the years. Pictures and information on two new motherboards from Sapphire reveal a much smaller formfactor. Both cards are Socket AM2 and of the mini-ITX format. They use AMD's 690 chipset and are not intended for the retail market foremost.

Both cards boards are instead designed for the IPC market (Industrial PC) and are called Sapphire IPC-AM2DD690G and Sapphire IPC-AM2SO690E. It is not clear whether they support Socket AM2+ processors, but judging from the specifications it's not the performance segment Sapphire is going after.

The motherboards sport a plethora of outputs despite the mere size, among others HDMI and VGA outputs for the graphics, a bunch of USB ports and other functions.

Sapphire IPC-AM2DD690G has a single DIMM slot, while the sibling AM2SO690E has room for two SO-DIMM slots. Sapphire is said to be working on fresher models with the AMD 780G chipset, which we hope will get some more impressive specifications. The boards will be sown at Computex this summer.
