Apple's portable MacBook computers are coveted for their clean designs and even if they are specified to rather acceptable battery times there are ways of extending them. They all have batteries that shouldn't be changed by the user, but the company HyperDrive has found a way of extending the battery time by announcing the market's first external battery for Apple's MacBook family.

Paired with Apple's MacBook Air the top model, HyperMac MBP-222, offer up to 31.5 hours or wireless activity. Or six times longer than Apple's stock battery.

HyperMac is available in four version with battery times of 12h, 17h, 23h and 32h.

The external battery sports some interesting functions as it not only keeps the computer alive when connected, it also charges the regular battery. At the same time it can power USB- devices, like Apple's iPhone.

HyperMac is compatible with all MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models and prices start at around $200. Those who are looking to run their MacBook Air for a day and a half will have to pay up $500 though.
