The HTPC segment of the market isn't the only one that is interested in slim PC formats but it is most often there you will find this need, fitting small yet powerful systems in small packages, which limits the size of the cooling but still has high requirements for efficiency. Depending on the size of the case there are some obvious limitations, most often in terms of height. At Bit-Tech they decided to take a closer look at a trio of low-profile CPU coolers.

The processor coolers are between 28mm and 45mm high and fits inside most cases, even mini-ITX cases, but with limited size comes limited cooling potential.

Despite all that it turns out that at least one of the coolers can handle most modern processors you might use with a HTPC. That Zalman's VF2000 cooler can also be mounted on graphics cards is hardly a drawback.
