Blackmagic Intensity is the first video editing card on the market that supports the the growing HDMI interface with high-res video signals. Intensity is also one out of few cards on the market that makes use of the new PCIe x1 slots we so often see on motherboards today. The card will make it possible to store uncompressed high-res video signals and this has been solved by Blackmagic by simply work around the HDV compression circuit in the units. This way you can record high-res and uncompressed video formats and later on edit the material and play it through the card's HDMI output.

Similar solutions are often very expensive but according to Blackmagic, Intensity will be a very affordable solution and cost $240. It's not just the pile of money needed that's small but also the card itself. We have a hard to imagine anyone who will not be able to fit this card inside their computer. Blackmagic Intensity will appear on the market on October 15 and could be an interesting choice for those who are working with high-res video and would like to use the HDMI interface.
