With AMD struggling with its TLB bug, Intel should be leaning back and enjoying the ride, but unfortunately, there seems to be trouble in Intel land as well. According to a report published at PCinpact.com, Yorkfield suffers from some slight problems too. Apparently the "integrity" of the FSB frequency is not satisfactory and may even cause crashes. They have been able to force the error in the lab, but haven't observed these problems out in the open. Wolfdale is not affected by this, but will arrive as planned in January.

Wow. And I was thinking that since AMD won't have anything to compete I may aswell buy Q9450.

With the 680i issues and this, things are getting quite bad on this side too.

Well, 680i is a pain and really old, can't say that I for one would miss it if it was suddenly upgraded to something decent Wink

Apart from quad oc which was a bad pain and very limited, for runing water like I did I had absolutely no daily issues whatsoever, so I can't complain. It did run the chip very very hot though which needed cooling or 80C was easy. Smile

It did reach mem latency/bandwidth like nothing yet I've seen. X38 looks nothing to me above P35 but rip price. P35 is still better for a desktop user, the ASUS boards are tight. I would vouch for them but no new Intel parts.

Cold is a different thing altogether though.

I'm curious as to exactly how both companies during the very same time frame... one ater another (?) discoevered "we have isntabilty in our mass shipping roadmap chiops and need to delay them now".

Well, have almost only used it with quad-cores Wink

The memory settings are all cool, just wish the rest worked as good Smile

Hehe, yep Smile
