MacBook Air was unveiled just recently at Macworld and it has gotten a lot attention, both good and bad, but Apple has revealed more than that. One of the more interesting things Apple has unveiled is an upgrade of the iTunes Music Store and Apple TV; online video rentals. It seems Apple has been able to sign most major movie studios, and should be able to present a quite large assortment of movies. The video quality seems to be slightly worse than DVD, considering resolution and bitrate, but still acceptable. Those of you who own Apple TV can also rent HD movies, something computer users can't.

Engadget has tested iTunes' movie rental service and was surprised by the image quality, but also impressed by the simple yet userfriendly interface.

"Perhaps the most telling result of our experience is this: we're tempted to rent again, soon."

Apple seems to be on the right track and the next couple of months will determine whether Apple made a right or a wrong. The price will be 3.99 USD for a new movie. More information on iTunes movie rentals can be found at Apple's website and Engadget's preview.

The movies can be played on both iPods and iPhone
