Apacer has announced the first high-capacity modules DDR2-667 modules with 8GB capacity. Apacer's modules are of the registered ECC format, thus intended for servers and workstations. Apacer says it has designed these modules for AMD's Opteron servers. The memory chips are made with 70nm technology and when we first heard we were a bit curious as to how they managed to fit 8GB onto a single module. Apacer had to extend the height of the modules a bit.

They are almost twice as high as regular modules and they are the least to say crowded.
