Xcerion has announced the name of its internet-based cloud OS (Operating System), which entered open beta stage back in September of last year. A cloud OS is an operating system available online. You connect to it from any computer and through it, you can access various regular applications such as instant messaging, office applications, browser, calendar, media player, and other regular applications (check out our previous report for more information). Xcerion has now announced the name of the Internet-based operating system, icloud.

Xcerion has set up a goal of developing one complete application per month, and will have more than 50 of the world's most popular applications online before the end of 2009. And that's only counting in-house development. Third-party developers are free to develop their own applications, and any current online application or web site can run on icloud. Another tweak of icloud is that all applications source code is viewable, which means that if you want to improve any of the applications you have the ability to do so.

A preview of icluod can be found at the official website, where you will also be able to register a free beta testing account.
