Was brainstorming with a fella about how to get rid out of the sound my Shuttle makes. It's not much, but there is some. The graphics card is the most obvious source of noise and this card was the first idea.
However after some consideration watercooling sounded like a fairly good solution. Would be cheaper as well.

You can rather easy fit a radiator where the CPU-cooling used to sit and I don't need a massive tank just to cool the CPU and a 9600XT.

A Hydor Seltz L30, Black ICE Micro and use the regular CPU-fan on the radiator as it is very silent and two WaterChill blocks for the CPU and GPU.

All of this would of course fit within the Shuttle. The pump is a big questionmark though, the size that is.

The second option is have the radiator and the pump inside my external HDD-chassi, which is another project way overdue. If so I would just pull the tubing through the spare PCI-slot and into the other chassi. The big downside with this is that the other chassi needs to remain powered on all the time.

The L20 is much quieter and smaller; it should fit very nicely in your project. The L20 is also reportedly more reliable.

Thanks,

I was thinking of using a small Sicce-pump otherwise, but then I would have to build a tank with the pump inside of it.

I saw DangerDen had a very small alternative as well but it costs like $100 at least, so I think I'm gonna skip that.

The L20 is probably your best choice then. Let us know how it turns out! (we want pics).

Sorry, but this wont come through. I'm gonna switch to a passive gfx now and try to lower the rpm of the cpu-fan instead. I simply couldn't fit everything in a good way into the Shuttle and gain something from it. Sad
Especially when it comes to the noice.
