GeForce 9800GTX is the next high-end single-core graphics from NVIDIA. It sports the G92-420 core running at 675MHz, 1688MHz shader clock and 512MB GDDR3 memory running at 2200MHz. Since this would basically make it an overclocked GeForce 8800GTS, it has been suggested that it would sport the same compression optimization found with 9600GT. The leaked 3DMark 06 score published by Expreview does not impress though.
With an Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 at stock frequency, the card scored 14,014 points, which is pretty much what an overclocked 8800GTS 512MB would do. Not much optimization to be found there, but then the drivers are most likely far from perfect.
