Intel's Conroe family will be a completely new processor architecture and even if it is based on both Pentium M and the NetBurst architecture Intel has added several other things to its new architecture. The latest information states that one of these will be SSE4 instructions that will improve the platforms video capabilities.

"The next generation SSE instructions were listed as part of the the platforms "Significant Video Enhancements" built into the upcoming Intel platforms."

Another function that will improve the platform's video features is CVT (Clear Video Technology) that is Intel's answer to ATi's AVIVO technology, but CVT seems to be tied to the chipset, 965, instead of the processor.
