Swiftech introduces new Apogee XT flagship waterblock
Written by Andreas G 08 October 2009 22:21

Long Beach, CA – October 6, 2009 19:45 PM Pacific Standard Time - Rouchon Industries, Inc. dba Swiftech® today announced the release of their new flagship waterblock, the Apogee XT. The "XT" waterblock represents the culmination of months of research and development marked by hundreds of hours of competitive testing. The end result is a product that manages to surpass everything that made its predecessor -the Apogee™ GTZ, one of the best water-blocks in the world; a substantial increase in thermal performance, sumptuous functional elegance, unique convenience features for beginners and extreme users alike, all contribute to place the new "XT" in a class of its own.

Like its precursor, the Apogee™ XT thermal design is primarily characterized by a pin matrix composed of 225 µm (0.009") micro structures, and topographically mapped cold plate. However both features have been considerably optimized to yield dominating results with Intel® socket LGA 1156 and 1366 processors. The product is shipped with a tool free retention mechanism which is adjustable to fit all Intel® Core™ Desktop processors (*); support for AMD and Intel server processors is expected to follow shortly.

“We focused on three areas: performance, appearance, and user-oriented features. According to our competitive test results, the Apogee™ XT thermal performance is currently unmatched; cosmetically, I find it to be the most appealing product we have ever made; and finally, with respect to user-oriented features, we kept the exceptional mounting system of the GTZ, but made it even better, and we added support for the increasingly popular compression fittings. Leading is constant innovation, but it is also listening to your customers, and we did just that.” said Gabriel Rouchon Swiftech's Chairman CTA. The product is being shipped to the distribution channels now.

MSRP: $79.95

(*) Socket LGA 1156 motherboard back-plate is not in stock at the time of release, and will be mailed upon request free of charge. ETA for the part is mid-october.
