Samsung's external harddrive Story Station will be updated with a more environmental model. Samsung has announced a new model of STORY Station that sports much lower power consumption at standby, 0.9W. By achieving this Samsung's 3.5" harddrive is compliant to the latest directives from the EU that says that electronics should not consume more than 1W when in standby.
Samsung STORY Station will ship in its new greener suit next month and then bring in storage capacities of 500GB, 1TB and 2TB respectively. The lower power consumption aside, the drive ships with automatic backups, password protection and data encryption.
