32nm Arrandale Celeron processor coming
Written by Andreas G 23 October 2009 23:22

Intel will launch a number of new mobile processors based on the Arrandale architecture and with 32 nanometer technology it should become highly attractive for notebooks. Most Arrandale processors will launch branded as Core i3/i5/i7, but it looks like Intel is also planning to launch Celeron model based on the new and more efficient architecture.

Celeron P4500 is said to be the first model and beside a dual-core Arrandale circuit made with 32nm technology the processor will house a 45nm GPU, like the rest of the series.

Celeron P4500 will operate at 1.86GHz and rely on 2MB cache. The integrated graphics circuit will in turn run at 500MHz, but will also sport a Turbo function (only for the GPU) that will turn up the frequency to 667MHz. The processors supports DDR3 1066MHz memory will consume up to 35W.

Arrandale is expected to launch next year and it's probably around then we will see Celeron P4500 list, that is if Intel doesn't change its mind.
