LG Flatron W30 notebook monitors
Written by Andreas G 26 October 2009 10:17

Monitor manufacturer LG has launched the Flatron W30 series of LCD monitors with an odd market focus. The monitors are intended for notebooks where the primary displays doesn't have enough space for optimal working conditions. The first two models, W1930S and W2230S, sport 18.5" and 21.5" panels and use a low monitor stand to bring the panel down to the same level as the integrated monitor.

With considerably bigger surface and 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio LG hopes that these LCD displays will improve usability of notebooks. Design hasn't been forgotten as Flatron W30 comes in five colors.

The new monitors are already out in Korea, but if and when they appear in the West is uncertain. Either way, it's an interesting concept as more and more users decide for notebooks instead of desktops, as it improves usability in the home.
