Dell Latitude XT2 FXR takes touch technology to where no man has gone before...
Written by Andreas G 30 October 2009 12:55

Dell has taken on the trend of small notebooks with touch technology and tablet function. Dell Latitude XT2 XFR is no regular tablet PC. With 12.1" display XT2 XFR is the market's smallest "rugged" tablet PC, which means Dell has designed the computer for resisting not only your fingers but all kinds of beatings. Dell targets several market niches but they all have one thing in common, their jobs require a computer that can do more than just look nice on the desk.

Latitude XT2 XFR is geared for police, military, field workers and the computer had to go through some pretty rough tests before it was approved.

Except from enduring a lot of beatings the computer has plenty of power under the thick crust. A Core 2 Duo processor can be paired with up to 5GB DDR3 RAM and ships with different sizes of batteries ; 4, 6 or 9 cells. Wireless network and mobile Internet are included and enables it to go online almost everywhere. Despite the protective gear the weight is still pretty reasonable at 2.45 kg.

The price on the other hand starts at $3,599.
