Doom could be considered the first good FPS (First Person Shooter), developed by ID software with founder John Carmack leading them. Doom gave many their first real adrenaline kick when gaming on a PC, but now it makes an appearance on another popular platform, Apple iPhone. Doom Classic has, after being available to unlocked iPhones, been officially released on App Store but not before John Carmack gave them some help.
Carmack improved the control system of the game to make it run better with Apple's iPhone, that only has LCD display with touch technology for navigation and control.
The game looks to run smooth as hell on Apple's smartphone too. It can be found on App Store for a small price and shows how far the mobile phone industry has come considering performance and hardware.
