In a way it's getting a bit tiresome having to sit around and wait for the exciting Eee Keyboard PC concept as ASUS keeps postponing it. However, ASUS keeps presenting us with pretty good reasons for the delays. All too we see products launch with way too many flaws, bugs and general teething problems, just to make the deadline.
Hopefully ASUS will avoid this trap with Eee Keyboard and now that it has chosen to delay the computer once more it's to swap the 5" touch display. ASUS has decided to use a higher capacitive display, like the one used by iPhone and other similar devices.
The new display sports 480x800 pixel resolution and will also offer navigation and control through simple finger gestures. The computer will also get an external Wi-Fi transmitter since the internal model was disrupted by the metal casing of the keyboard.
Eee Keyboard is said to launch early next year and hopefully it can also fit some fresher hardware beneath the keys, perhaps one of Intel's newer Pineview Atom processors.
