Chord Media Engine - Exclusive HTPC equipment
Written by Delph1 06 August 2005 18:37

Chord Media Engine is probably the extreme high end of the HTPC-market, even perhaps the Rolls-Royce, because we're talking about top nptch equipment, with an equivalent price. Chord Media Engine is an addition to Chord Electronics earlier audio and sound solutions where many has been asking for a DVD-player up to par with the rest. Finally their priayers have been answered, and what an answer: Chord Media Engine is not only a DVD-player but a Media hub above the rest. The unit has a storage capacity of 2.4TB through 6 x 400GB RAID-system. This will cover up to 20 000 CD-albums or 600 hours of DVD-film.

Chord Media Engine is equipped with HDMI/DVI and BNC component-outputs supporting both standard and HD-resolutions. There is also a high-end graphic card in the system for those who wants to play some games, unfortunately there is no information available on what card, or even circuit it is. The hear of teh system is Pentium 4-processor, not specified, but with its exclusive design and skyhigh price, 28 000 dollar(!), we surely hope they haven't cheaped out on us.
