Gainward and nVidia received very bad grades in our review of the GeForce FX 5800 Ultra a while ago. The performance and image quality was not good enough to compete with the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro and 9800 Pro.
But now nVidia has released the Detonator FX, containing big improvements for all GeForce FX cards. In order to get more fair results out of the Gainwards GeForce FX 5800 Ultra we have written a smaller, separate, update of our review.
