Kinc almost reaches 40 000 in 3Dmark03 - On air!
Written by Delph1 12 December 2005 14:15

Kinc is without a doubt Sweden's, and one of the world's, most active overclockers at the moment and besides for the fact that he is currently leading our 3Dmark05 category in the Swedish Performance Championship in supreme style Kinc has a few "side projects" planned. Among others he has put away his extreme cooling and has focused on cooling his monster system with air instead. The results were quite good and the perhaps most impressive is most likely the 3Dmark03 score. There are so far two persons that have managed to achieve 40 000 points in 3Dmark03, it's Kinc himself and Shamino. None of these systems have used anything remotely similar to air cooling. Now, with air cooling, Kinc has climbed to the number four spot at Futuremark's 3Dmark03 list, with only 500 points to the magic 40 000.

This is just another proof of the skill our Swedish overlocking expert as he by just using air cooling beats almost everyone of the remaining elite. Of course this is no ordinary air cooling. Kinc has been kind enough to supply us with some detailed information about his tests here at NordicHardware, also some single card scores from 3Dmark05 and 3Dmark2001. The cooler used with his Gainward 7800 GTX 512MB card is a cooler to be feared.

System specifications:
FX-57 (0530APMW)
Corsair XMS 3200LL BH-5 2x512MB
DFI NF4 SLI Expert
OCZ600WSLI

Cooling:
CPU; TT Big Typhoon + Delta 195CFM 120mm fan
GPU; Arctic Cooling Freezer + 230V AC fan
