Gainward launch extremely overclocked 7800GTX 512MB?
Written by Andreas G 27 February 2006 10:35

Gainward has for a long time had its "Golden Sample" series for video cards with very good overclocking potential. Gainward's latest concept is GLH, Goes Like Hell. This branding is a little bit better than Golden Sample and indicates that the not just is a handpicked such but also has higher memory freuqencies. Simply an extra extreme version of Gainward's already tuned Golden Sample models. Rumours states that Gainward, after launching 6800 GS GLH and 7800GT GLH, is working on a 7800GTX 512MB GHL card that will be something extra. The default frequencies with 7800GTX 512MB is 550MHz/1700MHz, Gainward is expected to go for 650MHz/2200MHz.

Almost too got to be true and we should consider this with a pinch of salt. But if Gainward would release such a card it would mean it would have created a 7800 GTX card that outperform NVIDIA's coming 7900 GTX. The con would of course be the price.
