NVIDIA PureVideo HD interview and impressions

PureVideo HD is the successor to NVIDIA's advanced video decoding technologies found in their Geforce-series. Just as it sounds, PureVideo HD's main difference from its predecessor PureVideo is HD or in other words high definition video playback. We've earlier reported about NVIDIA introducing PureVideo HD and now HardOCP's written an interesting article concerning the subject. The article also features an interview with NVIDIA's Scott Vouri who answers ten questions concerning the PureVideo HD technology and what we consumers can expect from our computers in terms of high definition video playback.

In addition to the interview HardOCP has also written their own experiences on the subject. By using NVIDIAs freashly-baked-still-hot beta drivers for PureVideo HD (ForceWare 92.91) and the hardware needed to play PureVideo HD, which by the way is a lot, they assembled a PC that could play the new HD DVD-format. Besides the fact that there's a lot of bits and pieces that needs to fit in your computer for one to be able to play the next generation movie-format, it still seems to be worth it. Considering the results from HardOCP.
