Written by Andreas G 06 March 2007 19:14

NVIDIA have several new G80-based graphics cards coming, but the new architecture is also well suited for the the business market, and NVIDIA has now made sure that it will also be able to enjoy the powerful graphics circuit. It has namely launched three new Quadro models in the form of Quadro FX 4600, Quadro FX 5600 and Quadro Plex VCS Model IV. These cards are are of course intended to be used in workstations and other systems working with powerful visual simulations. The new Quadro models all sport, as expected, Shader Model 4.0 and can be equipped with a memory buffer up to 1.5GB. Even if the base architecture is almost identical to the retail series with the G80 circuit there are a lot of things separating the two. Not the least the prices as Quadro FX 4600 costs 1995 USD and the top model Quadro FX 5600 costs a whopping 2999 USD.

"NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in programmable graphics processor technologies, today unveiled a new line of professional graphics solutions: NVIDIA Quadro FX 4600, Quadro FX 5600, and NVIDIA Quadro Plex VCS Model IV. Armed with the largest increase in GPU power and functionality to date, these solutions are designed to help solve the world's most complex professional graphics challenges."
