Porn company fights piracy with HD broadcasts
Written by Andreas G 02 April 2007 16:16

The porn industry has for long been considered one of the industries most prone to try out new technical advancements and distribution methods. It has been said once and again that the porn industry could become the decisive factor in the battle between HD DVD and Blu-ray. There are reasons for the porn industry being one of the technically advanced, it wants to be able to reach as many as possible, but at the; at the same time it is one of the most exposed industries in the piracy community. The latter is something some companies have been trying fight by finding new ways of protecting their material. One of these is Kink.com and it has chosen to use high definition Live broadcasts over the Internet.

At News.com they've published an article about the company that specializes in fetish and unlike most other Live broadcasts on the Internet it offers high-quality broadcasts at 1080i. Way better than the lousy quality most other major media sites offers and its Live broadcasts also gives you a hint of how much time and money the companies spends on new technology.

Earlier this month, Kink.com began streaming live 1080i high-definition video--at a time when mainstream sites such as CNN.com offer jerky, blurry pre-edited clips at roughly one-tenth the resolution of high-def.

The entire article can be found at News.com and paints a different picture of the "stupid" porn industry and its view on corporate views on the Internet.
