Hitachi is one of the companies that support the Blu-ray format, but is yet to launch a Blu-ray player. Back at CES 2006 in Las Vegas it presented a prototype player, but that is all. During the Harvey Norman Conference in Melbourne, Australia, it has presented another Blu-ray product, but this one is a bit more than just a player. It's namely a recorder with a whopping 1TB of internal storage; probably Hitachi's own 7K1000 harddrive. The recorder was announced back at the CES 2007, but we now know that the recorder till arrive next year and cost a "mere" $2,000 USD.
