Disney picks Blu-ray
Written by Andreas G 13 May 2007 11:02

Disney has been one of the studios that have chosen to keep a low profile, that is until now. Disney CEO Robert Iger has now revealed that Disney will be siding with the rest of the companies of the Blu-ray camp. The reasons are many, but perhaps foremost that the remaining industry is largely in favor of the Blu-ray format. He mentions technical advantages, which assume we means copy protection, but also the fact that Blu-ray is outselling HD DVD at the moment (although largely due to coupons) and that this is a trend that will keep going, even become more and more in favor of Blu-ray as more Blu-ray players arrive.
