Auzen X-FI Prelude 7.1 will use Creative X-Fi drivers
Written by Andreas G 10 August 2007 16:16

There has been a lot of talk surrounding the coming X-Fi sound card from Auzentech. The board will be based on the X-Fi chip from Creative, but will have superior components and features, or so the story goes. When people first found out that Auzentech would make a board based on the X-Fi sound circuit many jumped up and was wondering if this could perhaps become a remedy for the lackluster Creative X-Fi drivers. It will not. We first heard about this from one of our readers and after contacting Auzentech we had it confirmed that Auzen X-FI Prelude 7.1 will use Creative's drivers and not drivers from or made by Auzentech. The reason is simply because Creative is unwilling to hand over the source code. We're certain that a loft of people will be disappointed, but they shouldn't forget about what the card has to offer overall. Auzentech has a really interesting card coming and it will hopefully not be crippled by the drivers.
