The Logitech G family is a series of peripherals designed for gamers, with the G15 keyboard and G9 mouse as the flagship products. Logitech has now extended the series to speakers with the G51 model. Logitech G51 is a 5.1 surround sound system with dual matrix modes that make it possible to create surround sound from two-channel sources. This will apparently lead to the ultimate gaming experience as most games are designed with only stereo sound in mind, but the matrix technology of the G51 will boost this to a complete surround sound experience. The two matrix modes available are; Gaming Matrix and Music Matrix. The names pretty much speak for themselves.
The satellite speakers have two laser-tuned drivers each and through the Frequency Directed Dual Driver technology high-frequency overlaps are a thing of the past. The G51 is said to deliver a uniform and intense sound in any place of the room.
The G51 also comes with a control pod that house headphone and microphone jacks, mute buttons, volume controls, and LEDs for showing what you're doing.
Logitech also offers the possibility to mod the satellite speakers with your own artwork, and then mount them on your walls or stands. The center channel can also be clipped on to your LCD monitor.

The G51 will become available in October and cost $199 USD.
