Razer Lachesis - 3G laser gaming mouse with 4000 DPI
Written by Andreas G 23 August 2007 21:28

As both Logitech and Microsoft have launched new gaming mice, it was only a matter of time before Razer would launch its combatant, and so it has. Razer Lachesis incorporates the very latest in laser technology for the ultimate precision and speed. The 3G laser sensor from Razer brings a true resolution of 4000 DPI, with a tracking speed of up to 100 IPS (Inch Per Second) and can handle accelerations up to 25G. Razer has also tuned the lift-off level to make it the lowest so far to prevent unwanted tracking errors as the mouse is lifted off the surface. Razer Lachesis also has hardware tuning of the DPI, unlike most other mice with DPI switching that use software.

While both Logitech and Microsoft have designed completely new mice with new features, Razer has chosen to rely on its already well established designs and features, and vastly improves the quality of the sensor and its capabilities instead. Much like the G9 gaming mouse from Logitech, the Razer Lachesis has an on-board 32kb memory for storing profiles and settings. This also means that you don't need drivers for using the Lachesis and its specific features with your, or any other, computer.

Razer Lachesis Features:

  • 4000DPI 3G Laser Sensor
  • 60 – 100 IPS(a)
  • Improved Lift-off Distance
  • Razer Synapse 32kb Onboard Memory
  • Variable DPI settings in 125DPI increments
  • 1000Hz Ultrapolling / 1ms response
  • Nine independently programmable Hyperesponse buttons
  • On-The-Fly Sensitivity
  • Always-On mode
  • Ultra-large non-slip buttons
  • 16-bit ultra-wide data path
  • Zero-acoustic Ultraslick Teflon feet
  • Gold-plated USB connector
  • Seven-foot, lightweight, non-tangle cord
  • Ambidextrous design
  • Approximate size: 129mm (length) x 71mm (width) x 40mm (height)
  • Approximate weight: 128g

Razor Lachesis has a MSRP of $79.99 and will become available in October worldwide.
