ATI usually includes more than a few bug fixes with every release of its Catalyst drivers, but from time to time there are also significant performance improvements. The coming Catalyst 7.10 seems to be one of those drivers. Arstechnica has gotten their hands on some information on the coming drivers and among the most astonishing improvements we see a DirectX 10 performance improvement of 80 % in Company of Heroes with all Radeon HD 2000 series cards running in CrossFire, and 40% in Call of Juarez. Both Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and Supreme Commander are suppose to get boosts of 20-30 % in both CrossFire and single card configurations with Radeon X1000 and HD 2000 series cards, up to 82 % with Radeon X1350/1550/1650 cards. The 7.10 beta drivers leaked some time back, but it is probably best to wait for the final version before switching.
