Kinc and crotale breaks another 3DMark 06 record live at DreamHack - 29,147 points
Written by Andreas G 30 November 2007 23:02

After being almost too close at breaking the current 3DMark06 world record earlier today live at DreamHack 2007, Swedish overclocking aces and NordicHardware crew members Kinc and crotale managed to go that extra mile. They once again broke a 3DMark world record live at DreamHack. This time its 3DMark06 and the new record is 29,147 points, an improvement of the old record by about 100points, which was held by the trio Kingpin, Hipro and Shamino. Marcus and Robert used a system similar to the one the trio did and managed to break the record live before the eyes of 10,000 people.

System specifications:
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 (432x13, 5501MHz)
ASUS P5E3 WS Pro (Intel X38)
ASUS Radeon HD 2900 XT CrossFire 1175/960MHz
Corsair Dominator DDR3-1800 @ 1692MHz 6-6-5-15
SilverStone 1200W

Liquid nitrogen was used to cool both graphics cards and processor.

After a short celebration, Marcus and Robert went back to their overclocking booth to continue benching 3DMark06. In other words, there might be more coming.

Until then we can only congratulate Robert and Marcus for another great result!
