It wasn't long ago ASUS launched its Blu-ray player BC-1205T, and now the turn has come to the HD DVD format. ASUS HR-0205T is the name of the newest HD player from the component manufacturer, and this 5.25" unit also plays the regular CD and DVD formats. Thus ASUS HR-0205T is just a player, no burning of even CD or DVD. But ASUS claims that the playback is suppose to be extraordinary pleasant as ASUS has tried to reduce the noise from the device. When playing HD DVD media the noise is as low as 21.1dB, which should be especially appealing to HTPC owners.
ASUS HR-0205T uses the PATA interface, but comes with a PATA-SATA adapter for those that want to use the much more convenient SATA cables. The price of the player will be around $150 and even if this is expensive for a device without any recording possibilities it's still a lot cheaper than a stationary player.
