GeForce 9500GT specifications
Written by Andreas G 25 January 2008 18:23

GeForce 9500GT is a new name for you to remember. That is if you're into low-end graphics cards. GeForce 9500GT is based on the D9M chip, also known as G96. The core will run at 650MHz and sport 32 shader processors running at 1625MHz. The anonymous source states a 128-bit memory interface leading up to the 256MB memory, which can be either GDDR2 (900MHz) or GDDR3 (up to 1800MHz). It will replace the 8500GT and (hopefully) priced similarly.

The chip itself is, just like the rest of the D9x series, a die-shrink of the current D8x series, which means no DirectX 10.1 or Shader Model 4.1. It should run cooler though, and looks like a quite worthy opponent to the Radeon 3600/3400 series. Not to mention a good HTPC graphics card candidate with DisplayPort and HDMI. It's up to the specific vendors to decide which outputs to use.
