Acer has some big plans for 2008 and one of its most important product launches will be the new budget-PC. The mobile budget-PC will go up against ASUS Eee PC and is expected to arrive in Q2/Q3 (CES anyone?). Acer has now revealed that it will focus a lot more on the Japanese market, as it has closed deals with new distribution channels and hopes to ship 10 million notebooks before the end of the year. After first acquiring Gateway, and then Packard Bell, Acer has revised its organization and and decided to hand over the desktop market to Gateway, mainly because of Gateway's long experience and presence on the market.
